"Afik" - Youth care unit in “Malkishoa”
In the village of “Malkishua”, on Mount Gilboa, operates a unit for youth and adults, giving a therapy solution
combined with boarding facilities to victims of drug and/or alcohol abuse for ages of 18-24.
Rationale:
Adolescence, which in the past was believed to conclude with end of sexual puberty process (17-18), continues today according to care and education
scholars until the age of 24-25, and there are those who claim that even beyond that. This is - because the period of schooling was extended in recent two generations,
living at parents’ home until an older age, late marriage and late exit to economic independence.
